Lisa V. Blake, MA Joins True North; Honored By National Association Of Professional Women Monday December 21st, 2009 FALMOUTH, MAINE – December 21, 2009 – Lisa V. Blake, MA recently joined True North Health Center in Falmouth as a practitioner of meditation services. Ms. Blake says of her work, “As a practitioner, teacher and healer, I view meditation as a tool for physical wellness and emotional well being. I look forward to working closely with clients to create meaningful individual, couple or family practices according to healing goals and needs.” Meditation is an ancient practice that aides and supports healing and healthy living in our stressful modern times. Meditation supports healthy behavior changes and healing by concentrating our life force energy in a direction that moves us more fully towards wholeness and optimal health. Ms. Blake is a teacher, nationally and internationally in a variety of settings: high schools, colleges, community and faith-based environments. She is the founder of the Maine Mindfulness Project and is a long-term student of Venerable Kanchen Khen Rinpoche Lobsang Tsetan, head abbot of the prestigious Tibetan Tashi Lhunpo Monastery (in exile). She also leads family volunteer vacations to the Himalaya region of India. Ms. Blake is an alumna of Bates College, Bangor Theological Seminary and was part of the Central Voter Registration’s Data Conversion Team, a project of the Help America Vote act. Ms. Blake was Municipal Liaison for this project with the Secretary of State in Maine from 2006 through 2008. Recently, Ms. Blake was honored by the National Association of Professional Women as the Maine Woman of the Year and as a finalist for the national Woman of the Year prize.
