Susan is committed to health care models that respect and empower women and which honor the human side of the clinical encounter. Susan trusts that women know their bodies better than anyone, and is inspired when women come together to speak truth and share information about health issues. She refuses to believe there is such a thing as a stupid question.

Susan especially likes working with women of size, with young women having their first gynecologic examination, and with women who “hate to go to the doctor.” She is proud to continue in the tradition of healers who have been caring for strong women for several thousand years.

Susan’s practice includes:

  • Annual preventive physical exams for women including Pap smears, breast exams, tests for cholesterol, bone density, mammograms, etc;
  • Care for common gynecological concerns such as infections, PMS, cramps, birth control, fertility support, and pre-pregnancy risk assessment;
  • Guidance through perimenopause/menopause and into healthy maturity, including bioidentical hormone replacement where appropriate;
  • Counseling and consultation about optimum nutrition for men and women;
  • Electronic body composition analysis and customized lifestyle programs;
  • First Line Therapy program for health-related lifestyle changes - for men and women;
  • Lightbearer Health Mentoring program, for men and women, to help you create and sustain your personal program for health.

Susan speaks locally and nationally on women’s health and lifestyle topics including: fertility, hormones, endocrine disruptors, nutrition, the Schwarzbein Principle, personal affirmations and midwifery. Professional education topics include: Environmental Endocrine Disruptors and Women’s Health, Gynecologic Care for Adolescents, Integrative Health Care: Fertile Soil for Advanced Nursing Practice, Centering Pregnancy, Group Based Health Care, and Litigation Awareness for Midwives.
