Magili Quinn grew up on a small farm in western Maine, in close relationship with her family, animals, plants and the outdoors. Because of this, she has a common sense approach to health sometimes forgotten in this age of speed and technology. She believes in slowing down to examine the power of personal choice and in the use of tools both old and new to best support an individual’s unique health.
Dr. Quinn knows that physical illness and health challenges can prompt a person toward growth, seeking a better path for themselves and their lives. As a teen, Dr. Quinn experienced debilitating back pain that interfered with her ability to dance, her first love. Physical pain prompted her to seek out and find her Osteopathic physician and mentor, lasting relief, and eventually her career and calling as an Osteopathic healer. Through this experience, she experienced firsthand how establishing a web of supportive therapeutic relationships can be the first step toward transformative change.
Dr. Quinn comes to medicine and healing first as a “listener.” She believes this is where the healing process begins. Once the initial story has been told, she works with her patients in the context of his/her belief system. She pools her experience in conventional family medicine, Osteopathic principles and manipulative medicine, nutrition and Functional Medicine with the intrinsic guidance of the patient to create a truly unique treatment approach. The imbalance is addressed on multiple levels including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual as directed by the physician-patient relationship. The story unfolds in a shared authorship, a true partnership for health.
