Judie Mignogna (pronounced “men-yo-na”) is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her graduate degree from the University of New Hampshire. Judie is an accomplished artist, and often integrates creative approaches into her therapeutic work with children.

Judie’s journey began with her microscopic work as a Cytotechnologist in 1974. Her work as a cytotechnologist trained her to notice fine detail and eventually this love of detail ushered her into the art world. Judie enjoyed painting finely detailed pet portraits, but she discovered her greatest love was when portrait clients confided in her about their losses and grief for pets that had died. This new passion for helping others led Judie back to school, where she completed her MSW.

Judie particularly enjoys working with adolescents, but is committed to helping individuals of all ages. Through a “strengths-based” perspective, Judie assists her clients in discovering new aspects of themselves. Judie validates and encourages her clients to accept, love and empower themselves for the unique individuals they are. As a result of this approach, clients often gain access to new possibilities and problem-solving skills. Clients can then begin to master their own “destiny,” eradicate self-defeating obstacles, and understand themselves—including any confusing and overwhelming feelings.

Judie believes that unresolved losses, unprocessed grief and traumatic experiences drain a person’s energy. Consequently, the resultant stress can manifest as boredom, intolerance, anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, and a multitude of other symptoms and “illnesses.” Judie provides counseling, using a “teamwork” approach with the client, to help them regain a sense of security, fulfillment and peace.
