There is now a branch of psychology called “Energy Psychology”. The theory, research and practices in this field are based on the understanding that the body and mind are one. Meridian Therapy is one form of the energy techniques that are taught. The goal is to use “tapping” to heal emotional and physical problems. The theory is that old emotional wounds are stored in the bodymind as blocked energetic patterns, which are expressed as emotional and/or physical symptoms. Stimulating specific energy points on meridian lines releases the blocks, allowing our bodymind system to process the troubling problems through to resolution. As the energy is brought into balance, thoughts and beliefs about upsetting circumstances change and negative emotions and physical symptoms diminish. This process takes place on a bio-electro-magnetic level throughout our entire bodymind system.
There are many forms of Meridian Therapy. The form used at True North is the Emotional Freedom Technique or “EFT”, one of the simplest but no less powerful forms. The process involves tuning into a problem while gently tapping eight energy points to balance the energy system. Learning and using this five-step procedure empowers you to develop a healthy and easy skill for self care and self healing.
