In 1996 Cynthia Atkinson became the first Certified Healing Touch Practitioner in Maine, and a Charter Member of Healing Touch International, Inc. (HTI). In her practice, she values the client’s needs, wants, and the wisdom of their own biology and biography. Cynthia believes that health may be defined as feeling whole, connected with others and the world, and having the ability to celebrate life. She is committed to:

• Promoting health through restoring energy, balance and harmony
• Facilitating this sacred work by compassionately sharing her knowledge in order to enhance the healing journey of each client
• Assisting others in moving towards the wholeness inherent within them

Cynthia is a Certified Energy Medicine Practitioner/ Specialist, is an instructor for the program, and serves on the Credentialing Board for Energy Medicine Partnerships. She is a faculty member and coordinator of Energy Medicine classes in her area, and serves as a mentor for Energy Medicine students.

Cynthia is an experienced facilitator of many different groups, including a lactation group, childbirth education and postpartum groups, and grief and cancer support groups. She is also a Co-Supervisor of the Energy Medicine Practitioners at Counseling Services, Inc. as they integrate Energy Medicine with their clinical services. Cynthia speaks regularly at area conferences, schools and businesses. Her experience in traditional medicine is as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
