Dr. Bartlett is a family physician who has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. He received his MD degree from the Ohio State University and completed his internship and residency at Dewitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Bartlett has practiced in Maine since 1993 in a variety of clinical settings and sees men, women and children of all ages. Of his medical philosophy he says:

"I see the role of a physician as that of a coach or consultant. Each patient charts his or her own course through life in a physical and spiritual vessel. The physician is usually not there to make decisions on behalf of the patient. They are there first to listen to concerns, then to offer options for a course the patient may choose. The first step - that of listening, is perhaps the most important step. Just sharing worries can have an enormous therapeutic effect. Knowing that there are options, perhaps more than a worried individual might have imagined, is another step toward “well being.” So before any treatment begins, you are halfway to wellness just having been well heard.

I always appreciate people who come to me wanting to know what they can do to treat a medical illness as much as possible without medications. There are usually half a dozen natural paths to wellness that don’t involve a prescription pad."
