True North Practitioner Performance Excellence (P-PEP) Research Project
This purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of having a clear Performance Excellence policy and procedure and further engaging Circle to position True North to achieve both organization and individual performance excellence so that:
- True North can study the correlation between Performance Excellence scores and Clinical Outcomes
- True North can study the correlation between Performance Excellence scores and Clinical Operational Effectiveness
- True North’s mission and strategic objectives are accomplished
- Circle member personal satisfaction is derived through positive interaction with peers and professional accomplishments
- Circle members are enabled to perform to the best of their abilities
Practitioners will be asked to:
5. Self-Evaluation – Practitioner obtains and completes the self-evaluation component of the True North Performance Excellence tool which incorporates the True North Mission, True North Practitioner Core Competencies, Practice objectives and opportunity for the creation of integrated and aligned, specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound Practitioner goals.
6. Circle input – The True North Credentialing Circle (following Circle Principles and Agreements) provides input specific to Practitioner strengths, opportunities for improvement and specific notes of achievements/contributions (in all cases, specific examples are requested).
7. Performance Excellence Circle Discussion – Credentialing Circle and Practitioner meet for formal conversation to review and discuss performance.
8. Follow-up Circle Discussion – Practitioner meets with Medical Director to discuss Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time Bound (SMART) goals associated with role and establish periodic check in dates for ongoing discussions, sharing and measurement of impact of process on performance of organization and individual.
Once enough data has been collected, presumptively 3 Practitioners engaged in P-PEP research project over twelve month period, the data will be collated and reviewed.
We expect to see a correlation between Practitioner P-PEP engagement and performance excellence scores and clinical outcomes, e.g., as P-PEP scores increase so will clinical outcomes.
